Senator Dave Min Reflects on Governor Gavin Newsom’s State of the State Address

SACRAMENTO, CA — Senator Dave Min (D-Irvine) today attended Governor Gavin Newsom’s virtual State of the State. Min offered the following statement upon the conclusion of the address:

“During his term, Governor Gavin Newsom has been faced with a series of immense challenges, including a flurry of devastating wildfires, a once-in-a-lifetime pandemic and the ensuing economic downturn, and the alarming rise of racism and hate,” Min said. “He has demonstrated extraordinary leadership in dealing with these obstacles, making difficult and sometimes unpopular decisions guided by science, not politics. Governor Newsom’s emphasis on safely reopening our public schools, providing relief to the small businesses that will be crucial to our economic recovery and fighting the COVID-19 pandemic, whether in fighting for more PPE or pushing aggressively to turbo-charge our vaccine rollout, exemplify why our state leads the nation. I look forward to working with my colleagues and the Governor to meet our incredible promise.”
