Dear Friend,

Raising my kids in Irvine, I am always reminded of what a privilege it is to be surrounded by such a wonderful community. We are all so fortunate that our Orange County home is filled with individuals, small businesses, and nonprofits whose talent, hard work, and public spirit benefits us all.

In appreciation of the invaluable role that these individuals and organizations play in our daily lives, I am inviting you to nominate a local change-maker for the 37^th Senate District’s 2023 Community Impact Awards.

From innovation to education, to supporting the most vulnerable, so many community members play a role in making Orange County the home that we all love, and through these awards, I want to honor their impact. This year, I am incredibly proud to announce that I have named the Boys and Girls Club of Laguna Beach as our 2023 Nonprofit of the Year for the 37th Senate District. The Club was honored on June 7, 2023, at a special event in Sacramento.

At a time when too many young people struggle with mental health challenges, the Boys and Girls Club is a place where our kids get the support, mentorship, and life skills they need to thrive. It is an honor to recognize the outstanding staff, board of directors, and community volunteers that make the Boys and Girls Club of Laguna Beach a pillar of our community.
 

Even as we celebrate LGBTQ+ Pride Month this June, extremists are mobilizing to roll back our progress, introducing nearly 500 anti-LGBTQ+ bills.
Not in California.

Caltrans Dump Day in Irvine!

On Saturday, June 17, 2023, please join Caltrans, Goodwill of Orange County, my office and the office of Assemblymember Cottie Petrie-Norris for another event to offload bulky household items…all at no cost. This Dump Day sponsored in partnership with the Clean California program, which had invested billions in new funding to help restore local communities and cleanup our public spaces.

2023 OC Pride Festival and Parade

It’s that time of year again - please join me in celebrating our LGBTQ+ community at Orange County Pride on Saturday, June 24, 2023! Everyone is welcome and the parade kicks off at 10:30am, with festival celebrations starting at 12:00pm. Learn more at prideoc.com.

Join Planned Parenthood at OC Pride!

On Saturday June 24th Planned Parenthood of Orange County and San Bernardino is hosting a weekend of action in honor of and defiance of one year since the Supreme Court’s decision to overturn the constitutional right to abortion. Join California State Treasurer Fiona Ma and Senator Min on July 18, 2023, at 10:00am for a virtual webinar to learn about CalSavers, California’s retirement savings program that ensures all Californians have an easy way to save for their future and retirement.
