(SACRAMENTO, CA) – Today, Senator Dave Min (D-Irvine) announced the Legislature’s passage of his Senate Bill (SB) 1394, which has Senator Angelique Ashby (D-Sacramento) and Assemblymember Akilah Weber, M.D. (D-La Mesa) as joint coauthors. SB 1394 would establish a legal process for the rapid termination of a domestic abuser’s access to app-connected, remote, and GPS-based vehicle technology, addressing the growing problem of domestic violence abusers exploiting in-car location tracking to to stalk, harass, and intimidate survivors.




(SACRAMENTO, CA) – Today, Senator Dave Min (D-Irvine) announced that the Assembly passed Senate Bill (SB) 1174, which places a ban on local governments imposing voter identification (ID) requirements in local elections. The legislation prevents a patchwork of varying election requirements across the state and reinforces the State of California’s exclusive jurisdiction on the issue. 




(IRVINE, CA) – Today, Senator Dave Min penned a letter to the California Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) calling on the Department to reverse its decision to permanently close the Laguna Hills office after nearly 40 years of service. Buttressed between offices in Costa Mesa and San Clemente, the Laguna Hills office provides customer service to nearly 900,000 Californians residing in central and south Orange County, including a significant population of seniors given its close proximity to Laguna Woods.




(SACRAMENTO, CA) – Yesterday, the California State Senate passed Assembly Bill (AB) 1825 authored by Assemblymember Al Muratsuchi (D-Torrance) and coauthored by Senator Dave Min (D-Irvine). Known as the California Freedom to Read Act, the bill is designed to fight back against book bans that silence communities of color and LGBTQ voices.
