(SACRAMENTO, CA) – Today, Governor Gavin Newsom signed Senate Bill (SB) 241 to establish mandatory training and new gun dealer safety certifications to prevent theft, straw purchases, and other nefarious crimes that result from a lack of security parameters in the United States’ gun dealer industry. The law requires all federally licensed firearm dealers in the State of California, and their employees, to complete annual safety training provided by the California Department of Justice.

(Huntington Beach, CA) - Today, Senator Dave Min sent a letter to the City of Huntington Beach, which he represents, regarding his concerns about the City Council Charter Review Ad Hoc Committee's recommended Charter Amendment.

In a letter addressed to Mayor Tony Strickland and Councilmembers, Senator Min raised apprehensions that the proposed Charter Amendment could severely impede the rights of voters in Huntington Beach to participate in municipal, state, and federal elections.

(SACRAMENTO, CA) – Senator Dave Min today announced that Senate Bill (SB) 290, “Domestic Violence Documentation: Victim Access,” was signed into law by Governor Gavin Newsom. The first of two bills introduced as part of Min’s domestic violence legislative package this year, the new law modernizes the Access to Domestic Violence Reports Act of 1999 to allow domestic violence survivors to more easily access the evidence they need to try to obtain court-ordered legal protections.




(SACRAMENTO, CA) – Senator Dave Min (D-Irvine) announced that he was able to procure nearly $10 million for local priorities in the 2023-24 California State Budget, even as tax revenues have significantly declined. The State Budget, signed by Governor Gavin Newsom late Tuesday night, includes disbursements for ten local projects in the 37th Senate District requested by Senator Min, including investments in water management, arts education and public safety technology.
